Cracked cell phone glass

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I dropped my cell phone the other day and cracked the glass facing. It still operates, but still needs to be replaced. At first, I called the claims dept at Squaretrade and was told that they could not accept my claim until I uploaded my original purchase receipt, which I did. When I called them back I was told that I had to send my phone into them for repair and if not repairable it would be replaced. I advised the CSR that I could not be without my phone and they could just send me another phone to replace it. The CSR said that they did not have my phone in stock to send to me and would not send me a comparable phone replacement until it was determined if the phone is repairable. They said that I have to drive 65 miles to the nearest repair office to determine if the phone is repairable! Are you kidding me?! They are putting her onus on me to do their job! I have called several of the repair offices and they told me that they cannot get parts for my Kyocera DuraForce phone! So, I am on my way to Sacramento from 65 miles away doing Squaretrade's job with dealing with my "insured" phone. I will not do business with Squaretrade for any reason due to their poor customer service and practices.

Trotted unsuccessfully to talk with a human

I had questions about the return of a broken phone but got stuck in your automated phone system. The returned phone had a broken screen that prevented me from deleting personal data or turning the power off. I couldn't remove the battery either.

Repair of speaker on radar detector....... denied!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This place must have changed hands in the past few years!!! I had a couple of claims, 1 in 2014 and 1 in 2010, that went as they should have.

My radar detector speaker recently blew. I try to file a claim and get no response for days. I call once and the female representative whom answered is obviously foreign! My claims representatives in the past were specifically "AMERICAN"!!!

So, I'm instantly turned off. She tells me that I need to upload my receipt to their website. It had been a couple of years and I didn't think much of it. I looked in my file and found I had already submitted a receipt the same day I purchased my radar detector from Ebay.

I call back later that evening and get another "FOREIGNER". This piece of "work" ("expletive understood"), tells me that because I purchased the warranty through the website and not with the Ebay merchant, the warranty is void. I told him there was NO COMMUNICATION to that effect, at the time of purchase of the warranty and that was totally unacceptable. I told him to get me a manager, he (Malfoy???) said his manager was busy and I WOULD get a call back within 24 hours.

No calls yet!!! It appears that AMERICAN BUSINESS has taken a HUGE DUMP!!! I'm ashamed to be an AMERICAN considering the representatives (CLOWNS) we supposedly have!!! It appears the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU has become nothing more than a placebo!!!

I guess flaming businesses on social media is the next best thing anymore!!! Hey Square Trade and Better Business Bureau, wake up, quit disrespecting us, we're tired of the crap!!!

The first time i used square trade was in the middle of November to replace my S8 plus. It took 3 phones and almost 3 weeks to actually get a phone that worked. They call these grade a just like new. They are refurbished garbaged. Fast forward 3 months and the phone has stopped working. They don't offer any warranty on the phones they send. Now I'm on claim #2 and another deductible. The monthly savings and lower deductible just isn't worth it.

Nothing but stress and disappointment. They don’t fix and lie about their service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Nothing but a nightmare. They keep sending it back to me untouched. It is a scam about this fast shipping and turn around. They have your equipment for weeks. They claim they go over it and make sure it is working properly before returning it. It comes back dirty and not repaired. The people you talk to believe the technicians repair it and believe in their service. It’s not them. It is the repair part of their service. I see a class action lawsuit. Dealing with Square Trade has been a nightmare. The representatives are great. It is the repair side of it that is terrible. The representatives truly believe in what they are telling you and that your equipment will be repaired to your satisfaction.

They refused to honor their advertising-false advertising

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Bought a 2 year warrantee from Square Trade for a new printer. Their Staples salesman and their advertising said the warrantee started after the manufacturer's warrantee ended. A recent message they sent me still says that, but customer service claims that the contract says it runs concurrent with the mfg. warrantee. You buy this warrantee without seeing the contract. They never sent or emailed me a contract and although they have twice offered to email the contract after I complained, they never did. You can't call their executive office. To make matters worse the HP printer gave out about 20 days after they say the warrantee expired. Noticed also that Square Trade does not now list printers as insurable on their web site. Misleading and untrustworthy. Recommend you do not use their services. They were just bought by Allstate insurance last year.

Horrible communication and took MUCH longer than stated

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I sent my laptop in for repairs over a month ago. They were great in the beginning, doing everything they said they would do and kept good communication with me.

Granted, it was around Christmas and the New Year coming up that I sent it in, but it stated that it would be repaired within 2 to 5 business days and that they would keep me updated on the progress. I gave them nearly 2 extra weeks before I contacted them. The last email I received from them was December 28, 2017. I had to call them on two different occasions to get any sort of answer, to which they let me know that they were waiting on a new keyboard that was supposed to arrive the next day.

I never heard back from that, and that was nearly 2 weeks ago. I've been dealing with a lot, considering my daughter has been in the NICU for 3 weeks now, so I haven't called them lately, but today, I received my hard drive in the mail without notice. So I called them, to which they said they sent an email on January 25th notifying me of this. I checked after the call, and there was no email from them.

They also said they couldn't repair my laptop, so they sent me a check to get another one. This is cool, I guess, but the laptop I had has apparently somehow gone up in price by nearly $300, so I'm not sure what they expect from me.

I don't appreciate the lack of communication and that I spent $400 on the protection plan alone just to have to shell out more money for another laptop. I don't recommend SquareTrade based off of my experience over the past month.
