After 2 years, the top of my couch is faded and the cushions have completely collapsed. It is very uncomfortable and unattractive. According to SquareTrade, if I spilled ketchup all over it, it would be covered, but fading and the structural failure of the cushions isnt. What a waste of money.

Need information

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I need information on who to contact about a business that does warranty work for square trade out of buckner missouri/Topeka kansas.

A man who owns these two separate businesses doesnt pay his hard working employees and he doesnt serve his and square trades customers.

I, like numerous other repair men have done good repair work for this guy and square trade and he has refused to pay us.

There is a investigation on him from the minumum wage agency. He has several hundred bad reviews and I'm about to take him to court for the money her owes me.

I feel this is bringing a bad name to square trade and that he doesnt represent your brand it is should be represented.

I hope you launch an investigation in to this guy and possibly move on to another company to help assist your needs because he isnt it.

I have plenty of evidence to show for his poor business ethic and while yes, he does owe me money and I'm upset i seen all the things this man does to offers first hand amd I'm just trying to help the customers i served while dealing with the unprofessionallism of his business. Its a nightmare for both worker and customer and something should be done.

I'm adding this on this site to see if square trade will continue to allow this horrible businessman to keep working for them, or for once protect hard workers and their customers.

Sold me a $190 stain protection plan - which they now say doesn't cover stains!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
SquareTrade - Sold me a $190 stain protection plan - which they now say doesn't cover stains!

I purchased an upscale rug from Perigold (a Wayfair co). During my purchase, the customer service representative at Perigold offered a stain protection program which they said "covers everything - spill wine, animal accidents, tears, etc.

- they will either repair it or replace it." The protection plan was not cheap! $190 for 5 years of coverage but given the expense of the rug and the protection described, I purchased the policy. Sadly, the rug became stained a couple of months after purchase. Nothing crazy, just some discoloration on a corner of the rug.

So I opened a claim. They sent two 3 oz bottles of stain cleaner with instructions for me to clean the rug. I followed the directions, however the cleaner did not remove the stain. So I contacted SquareTrade again.

They made me open a new claim. They sent a 'technician' to my home to professionally clean the stain. Upon arrival, the technician looked at the stain and said he was not confident he could clean the stain and said he would recommend the company replace the rug. Days later, I receive an email from SquareTrade saying they reviewed the claim and are denying coverage claiming the stain is an 'accumulation' stain and not covered under the policy.

This is a clear case of fraudulent business practice which seems pervasive based on other reviews.

Please DM me to include me in any class-action against this company. I am happy to share all necessary documentation - receipt, claim details, correspondences, etc.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. They did another new claim for the defective phone.

Found out that Square Trade has to cover an item for 30 days after a customer purchase of their Allstate Square Trade Plan. It took Consumer Cellular to get a three way call going between them, Square Trade and myself.

The lady wasn't happy at Square Trade but she did a new claim. Thank you Consumer Cellular for your help.

Original review Feb 01, 2024
I purchased full coverage on my cell phone, which I pay for monthly to have my phone covered. I dropped my phone, the dog grabbed it and ran with it.

The phone had a few teeth marks but seemed to work until I couldn't use the camera because one of his teeth went right through it. When I called to make a claim, I was informed dogs weren't covered. I asked him if he missed I dropped the phone first? He put me on hold and came back and said they would approve the claim.

Great. Phone would be here between 1-3 days. I received it in 2 days. The phone was supposed to be a like new phone, but it wasn't working properly.

I could tell it had been dropped. Icons wouldn't work, screen was freezing up could receive e-mails but if I replied and sent an attachment they wouldn't go through. 24 hours later, it was still spinning and trying to send the e-mail. I called Consumer Cellular first and was told I had to contact Square Trade, which I did only to be told by a woman that she was sorry and if she could help me she would.

She said they approve the claim and Consumer Cellular sends the phone. I went back and forth between these two companies for over an hour. Now Consumer Cellular had a man who I couldn't understand, I was mad and asked him for his Supervisor. Not sure this man was even a Supervisor because he knew less than the one I was talking to.

He finally told me I would get my new phone in 1-2 days. 3 days later, no phone. Called Consumer Cellular after the 3 days, only to be told by a very nice woman that Square Trade is responsible for 30 days if anything was wrong with the phone. She put me on hold, contacted Square Trade, she kept telling me they kept transferring her from one person to another and would put me on hold.

Finally, she came back on and we had a three-way phone call. The lady at Square Trade wasn't very happy but told me she would approve another claim, so I could get a phone. Now, the phone was supposed to be at my home today before 6pm. Never happened.

I have now been without a cell phone for 8 days.
The phone is coming from OR! Really, I live in Ohio. I just had my 5th stent put in and if I have problems and have to go back in the hospital I need my phone. My husband has health problems as well, and I would need to be in contact with him.

There is no excuse for any Customer Service person to not know their job and what is to be expected from them, and this includes Consumer Cellular, which I have never had a problem with at all until this time. Their Customer Service Representative lied to me to get me off the phone, and I have turned in a complaint against him. Poor customer service representatives ruin a business.

I will contact Square Trade tomorrow and file a complaint against their representative, who told me if I could help you, I would.
I would suggest that people should not buy any warranty insurance from this company. If this is the only one that is offered for a product you are purchasing, then go somewhere else and buy it if they offer anyone but Allstate Square Trade.

They won't give you a new one ; that is not what insurance companies do. They will try to put you back to where you were yesterday, with a used but serviceable phone.

They sent you somebody else's bummer which is not usable ; makes me wonder where your dog phone will end up. Don't buy 'extended warranties' because they are not.

I understand that. But don't send out a phone that isn't working.

The dog is doing just fine. He's just a hyper fur baby.

It's Consumer Cellular and Square Trade that is on the chopping block. Especially Square Trade for not doing the proper thing to begin with.

They finally sent checks for the cost of the products but only offered $25 compensation (which I have not gotten) for the hassle. I have proof it took over 25 phone calls & almost a total of 12 hours on the phone over a 2 month period just to get the checks. I DO NOT...

Original review Oct 22, 2023
I filed claims on 5 cell phones at once and had 3 approved for fast cash over a couple weeks time and have been lied to by multiple managers about having the other 2 approved after their employees gave me wrong information. I had to retrieve my items from a dumpster after I was told I could dispose of them.

Have been fighting them to cover the broken phones for over a month and a half and when I filed complaints to the BBB they denied my last 2 claims as retaliation. They are the worst company ever. They teach their CCR's and managers to lie to the consumer just to be able to screw them out of what is rightfully owed to them. They don't even give you full reimbursement, they give you what they think the item is worth.

So you buy a plan and they screw you every which way from Sunday. I am now looking into legal ways to deal with this since the CCR's and managers have lied repeatedly on recorded calls, can never keep information correct and they never do what they say they will do. Not worth the time or the money. THEY ARE A COMPLETE SCAM and have had several class action lawsuits filed and WON against them but the government still allows them to operate.

They offered a $25 compensation check (which I have not received) for the hassle but $25 for 25+ calls and almost 12 hours of call time (proof enclosed) having to take time after each call to get my blood pressure out of dangerous levels. They need to be fair to the consumer.

Trainwreck expereince

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

A long one but might be of interest.

In Oct 2020 I purchased a Maytag Double over glass top stove from Home Depot. I bought it from them for some very specific reasons.

1: They matched the price of other vendors, had stock, and most importantly had a viable extended warranty program.

The availability of the extended warranty was the key reason I bought from Home Depot having experienced their service regarding previous appliance purchases.

2: Previous purchases of major appliances (washer, dryer & inverter microwave) proved these extended warranties were a good investment as they extended the warranty out to 5 years. It was used once for both the washer & dryer and the microwave. The cost of the repairs was significantly higher than the cost of the extended warranty programs.

Earlier this week, the rear right burner stopped turning off completely and would not work in the 1& 2 o'clock positions. A serious failure.

In addition, the upper over had slowly been taking longer and longer to heat up to a high temperature. I went through, found my original bill of sale and my warranty registration. I then went to "Squaretrade's (owned by Allstate Insurance) and registered my claim (remember, this is a stove with a burner that won't turn off completely.) That was 3 days ago. I have had to initiate every call which goes through a US site, set up to service American customers, not Canadian customers.

The US site runs you through all kinds of questions to check it's you and not a scammer and then when you say "Home Depot Canada", they redirect you to a "Canadian site" and you go through the entire process again. According to my phone records, I've now done this 13 times.

The initial contact told me 'We were going to go through some troubleshooting steps that he was confident would solve the problem. The 1st was for me to pull the plug for "one minute" and that would reset the burner (for the novices, this is how you "fix" a big screen TV that won't turn on) I pointed out it was a mechanical rotating burner that you could hear it was not engaging. The next solution was to pull the breakers for the kitchen and that would reset the stove.

I pointed out that I live in a part of the country where long power outages are a weekly event and the damn stove has been rest at least 6 times in the last month. I've met gnats with a higher IQ's.

One half hour he called me with an amazing program solution that he was confident I would be thrilled with. I was to search and find a technician to fix my stove, pay for the service and submit the bill to Squaretrade/Allstate for approval. If they approved it, I would be paid somewhere down the line, maybe...

I pointed out to him, that all of those things were what I was paying his company to do and certainly weren't my responsibility and I was not Squaretrade/Allstates bank.

Now things get really interesting. I received another call from a representative of Squaretrade/Allstate with another solution. He informed me that they in fact had "NO ONE" in Durham to provide that service (repairing my stove) so they were going to rebate me my money spent on the warranty. The stove repair would then be my problem.

I've been to Home Depot twice, promised action and got nothing.

I spent today alone over 4 hours on hold for Home Depot Canada only to have them hang up 2 seconds into the conversation when they finally answered. I tried connecting with Atlanta only to find that even there, no one answers phones. I've left a message for their VP of Ops but would be surprised if I heard a peep out of her.

So, in effect, Home Depot sold me a product that they or their partner Squaretrade/Allstate knew there was NO support for which no matter how you slice it is fraud. Additionally, they use the warranty program as a competitive advantage which is also a major issue.

Had I known that the warranty program was in fact nonexistent, I would not have bought the appliance from Home Depot. It is my intention to file a formal complaint with the Competition Bureau for deceptive marketing practices.

In addition, any consumer who purchased a similar product will have also been defrauded and rather than this being a single consumer, it may encompass hundreds of Home Depot customers over the last 3-4 years.

I will also initiate a small claims lawsuit against Home Depot Bowmanville and Squaretrade/Allstate to recover the cost of my warranty, interest, the loss of my time @ $200.00/hr early next week

Paid for furniture insurance they wont fix

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I purchased an electric sofa and purchased the insurance through squaretrade. The reclining seats stopped working on 12/23/2023.

I submitted a claim online on 12/23/2023, I have had to call in 19 times now, and they still have no resolution for me to fix my sofa. Today they told me they need to order the parts. They have needed to order the parts since 1/26/2024 and still haven't done so as of today 2/15/2024. Today when I called in I was told it takes 6 - 10 weeks to receive the parts and then they can schedule a technician to come back out and that takes an additional 30 days.

So maybe my sofa will be repaired by summer??? Who knows!! This company is a joke! Each time I call in, I get the same answer that they will look into and email me with a resolution within 1 - 2 business days.

The emails are just and unhelpful as the phone calls.

Consumers don't waste your money on this insurance because they have no intentions of every fixing your items! It is a scam and run around, they want you to just give up.
