I returned the iPhone I bought this for. So, I no longer need the coverage for an item I don't own.
I got zero response from them. They kept my $35.
They lost hundreds in future business. I'm good with that.

Verified ReviewerEpic Fail in Replacing 75” tv through American Home Shield
We have a 75' TV that stopped working. We filed a claim through our American Home Shield, who contracted with SquareTrade.
They gave us one replacement option, the same TV, but a newer manufacturing year. It was shipped from Walmart and we set up installation. When they came and put it up, it was damaged due to shipping carelessness. We called, sent pictures as instructed and they scheduled a pick-up.
We sent a copy of the truck pick-up slip as requested via email within an hour after pick-up. We expected an email the next business day with information on the delivery of a new TV. Nothing. We called, they said 24-48 business hours.
That time came and went. Needless to say, two weeks later they still haven't ordered the TV! We have been on the phone every day and are getting sick of the lip service.
We're tired of hearing that there was a glitch, receiving apologies, being promised an email is coming, etc. I don't even think they are talking to anyone else when they put me on hold.
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered
User's recommendation: NEVER USE SQUARETRADE. THEY ARE USELESS!

Verified ReviewerDON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A WARRANTY YOU CAN'T USE!!!
We have a dishwasher we purchased from Home Depot. We purchased an extended warranty and installation.
Eighteen months later, dishwasher won't drain. IT'S OKAY...WE BOUGHT THE WARRANTY!!! NOPE. Sent out some incompetent jerk that stated after a whole five minutes that he couldn't get the dishwasher pulled out to access the drain hose.
He told us we had to contact Home Depot Installation to have the unit uninstalled so he could repair it. He then told us to call again when the unit was "accessible" and he took the replacement parts with him. After fighting with Home Depot for multiple days, we finally get the unit uninstalled to be repaired. Called the repair company back...they told us we had to have a new claim opened for them to send someone out.
Called Allstate...they told us to call the repair company...finally received an email Monday that our incomplete claim was being reviewed and we would receive another email concerning a new claim within 1-2 business days. Called back Tuesday...still no answer on the claim, all the while, I have a huge appliance sitting in the middle of my kitchen. Called back Wednesday, was told again that there would be an email in 1-2 business days. FOUR business days later, called again and was told they required 1-2 business days.
After losing my patience, we finally received a message from the repair company they assigned, requesting all our information all over again. Sent them all the info...they then responded...we cannot service your appliance, the warranty company was supposed to contact you, Contacted the warranty company back...they had no clue what was going on and stated I would receive an email in 1-2 business days. I received an email later that evening "congratulating" me for my claim being approved, and assigning the same company that already refused to repair my appliance. Tried to file a complaint with someone else within the company and was referred back to the same number.
This has been going on for near 2 weeks and still no resolve. I just want my money back! However, I am seeing review after review of people getting refunded and their refund cards not working, so somehow I don't see that this will resolve anything either.

Verified ReviewerAllstate/Square trade will not honor their contract
I bought a sectional sofa from Big Lots and purchased the 3-year protection plan for each of the 3 sections. Shortly after, the cushions started to split.
I contacted Square Trade only to be given the runaround for the past ten months, only to be denied time after time. This is a crooked company with no intention of honoring their contract.

Verified ReviewerResolved: Sold me a $190 stain protection plan - which they now say doesn't cover stains!
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Not able to provide reason
- they will either repair it or replace it." The protection plan was not cheap! $190 for 5 years of coverage but given the expense of the rug and the protection described, I purchased the policy. Sadly, the rug became stained a couple of months after purchase. Nothing crazy, just some discoloration on a corner of the rug.
So I opened a claim. They sent two 3 oz bottles of stain cleaner with instructions for me to clean the rug. I followed the directions, however the cleaner did not remove the stain. So I contacted SquareTrade again.
They made me open a new claim. They sent a 'technician' to my home to professionally clean the stain. Upon arrival, the technician looked at the stain and said he was not confident he could clean the stain and said he would recommend the company replace the rug. Days later, I receive an email from SquareTrade saying they reviewed the claim and are denying coverage claiming the stain is an 'accumulation' stain and not covered under the policy.
This is a clear case of fraudulent business practice which seems pervasive based on other reviews.
Please DM me to include me in any class-action against this company. I am happy to share all necessary documentation - receipt, claim details, correspondences, etc.
- You have to jump through 1000 hoops to get your claim settled
Preferred solution: Reimbursed for the cost of the rug ($1,250) or receive a replacement.
User's recommendation: Avoid SquareTrade and their parent company Allstate.

Verified ReviewerAbsolutely Disaster
Hello. I have been having a very, very difficult time getting this claim taken care of.
I have sent multiple emails with photos, I have sent in 3 affidavits, I have paid my $25 deductible, as can be seen on the attached. I called on Friday and spoke with someone that said it was beyond their capability, so I was transferred to a supervisor, who assured me that the claim had been approved and they had everything they needed. I go to pick up my glasses thinking that the claim money was sent to them and it was not. I spent over 20 minutes on the phone with a supervisor and got no answers.
Just that it would be reviewed in the next 24-48 hours. I was told by the Sams Vision Center Manager that this has not happened with any other customer before.
Whatever I need to do to get this resolved, please let me know and I will take care of it. I am completely frustrated with this.
- It seems like a great option
- Do not deliver what they promise

Verified ReviewerLack of resolution on warranty claim
We had Home Depot renovate our kitchen, which included new appliances and an Allavino wine refrigerator. The new appliances were covered by our additional purchase of a 5-year insurance plan from Allstate. The plan number is 102703****78077, claim 0892********. The claim was for a failed unrepairable Allavino wine refrigerator that cost $1512 as part of the renovation project. About 3 months ago, the wine refrigerator failed. Warranty support authorized local repair; however, the appliance was determined unrepairable. We have been trying to get resolution of this claim for 3 months now and have been getting the 'delay run around' from the warranty group. This is a small claim! I need a new wine refrigerator replacement delivered and installed, or a refund of the original purchase price.

Verified ReviewerHome Depot Extended Warranty
I thought it was bad and now it gets worse. After all this time since I tried starting the claim, today they tell me that the parts shipment is delayed so the service call for later this week is not happening. This SquareTrade service is absolutely the worst.I will never ever buy anything from any company that uses them for warranty.
DO NOT BUY anything from Home Depot that needs an extended warranty!!! They outsource it to SquareTrade, a part of Allstate and it is a total rip-off.
I have all the paperwork for an LG Washer purchased in January 2022 with a 5 year extended warranty from this horrible company. I called today to file a claim and it seems they have no record of our extended warranty in their system! Now, they tell me they will send me an email in a few days to tell me how to make a claim. Really?
All they are good at is apologizing and saying how sorry they are. Now I find out I was supposed to go to the allstate site and "register" the warranty. No one ever told us this before.
So, after speaking to a supervisor who spent the entire time apologizing, I still need to wait for them to send me an email to make a claim! NEVER buy extended warranties for Home Depot products!!!
- Easy to purchase
- Simply do not care - they have your money already
- Make you jump through so many hoops and give no direction
- Can only email - no calls

Verified ReviewerWill not warrant the problem
We bought a five-year warranty on a reclining sofa we purchased at NFM. After about 12 months, the outer reclining sections started leaning outward, making it very uncomfortable.
We've had two different technicians visit. The first one ordered new parts, which the second technician deemed unnecessary for fixing the problem.
The second technician reported that the cushions had given up and submitted a request to order new ones. Within a few days, Allstate (Squaretrade) rejected the request and refused to cover the problem.

Verified ReviewerResolved: Bad experience
I purchased a 65-inch TV from Walmart, along with the Allstate Square Trade 4-year warranty. One year later, the screen blacks out.
No problem, I have the warranty, right? So, I call it in. They ask for the serial number, receipt, picture of the serial number located at the back of the TV, and a ten-second video of what the TV was doing. Well, this was on a Saturday.
By the following Thursday, after about ten phone calls, I get approved for three cheap, off-brand TVs which were about 200 dollars cheaper than what I paid for. Needless to say, I will never buy their warranty again.
- Convenient over the counter purchase
- Are cons

Verified ReviewerBilling issues then they canceled my plan and lied to me about a new one
I got a new debit card. Therefore, when they attempted my payment in May, it didn't go through.
They sent me an email to update my billing information and make a payment. I did that - I updated my billing information and made the payment for $29.99. A week later, I got another email stating that I needed to update my billing information. I clicked the link again and it told me I had already updated my billing information.
A couple of days later, I got another email stating I needed to update my billing information. I clicked the link and it said I had already updated my billing information. I then called customer service to figure out what the issue was. They told me they hadn't received my payment for May and I needed to update my billing information.
I told them I had already done that and they had taken my payment for $29.99. They told me they didn't have my payment and I needed to talk to my bank. I went to my bank and got a printout of my statement showing the payment made to Allstate for $29.99. I called customer service again and they had me email a copy of the statement from my bank, and told me that I needed to call back in two business days.
I did that - I emailed my bank statement and called back in 2 business days. Customer service told me that they were going to upgrade my concern to a 'system concern report.' I called back in another 2 days, at which point they told me that my billing issue had been rectified and my account was in good standing. However, a couple of days later I received yet another email stating that I needed to update my billing information or my account would be cancelled. I called right away and they told me that they were going to send my account to the 'system concern report' again.
I asked them if my current claim that I was trying to make would still be okay and they said yes - my account would be 'frozen' until the account was figured out because it was in a 'system concern report.' 2 days later, I got another email saying my account had been CANCELLED! I called again and they told me there was nothing they could do because my account had already been cancelled. I told them I had been talking to them for 3 WEEKS now and I was told because my account was in this 'system concern report' that everything would be on pause until my billing issue had been figured out. They told me there was nothing I could do - I had to purchase a new plan.
I again asked if my new plan would cover all six of my phones as I had a family plan that covered six phones. They said yes, go online and there would be a plan that would cover all of my phones, for which they would give me a refund for my account. I went online and all the plans only covered up to four phones. I then called customer service back and they said no - they only offered plans that covered up to four phones.
But, if I wanted to purchase a plan to cover four phones, should I need to make a claim on one of the other phones, I could just switch the information for one of the currently covered phones to one of the phones that were not covered and it would then be covered.
I expressed my doubt as everything I had been told by customer service so far had been incorrect, and given they had cancelled my account already and were unable to find where my payment for May had gone. I am now left with no coverage on any of my cell phones thanks to their incompetence and unknowledgeable customer service people.

Verified Reviewer | Harrisburg, PennsylvaniaWhat the check for $1,200 we were told we would get.
I am so tired of Square Trade. As many other people also have the same complaints.
You tell us to send documents, we send them, never hear back and then you say you did not receive them. This has happened numerous times with the claim for my laptop. We have an email from square trade giving us permission to get my laptop looked at locally. When we did and the computer shop said it could not be fixed, you now say we can't get reimbursed because we were supposed to send it to you.
Are you kidding me?? Finally my husband spoke to one of your representatives on July 23, 2024 and was told we would receive a check for $1,200 in six days. Then we get an email the next day saying it has to be further looked into. You cannot tell a consumer they are getting a check and a day later say, it needs to be reevaluated.
When I talked to Ali on July 27, 2024 he said, if you were promised a check, then we need to pay you. Keep in mind all your phone conversations are recorded and this can be easily verified. Ali promised me he would look into it and get back to me by the end of the day July 27, 2024). He never called back, instead we got a generic email saying someone would contact us the next day - that never happened.
I do not know how Square Trade can get away with these unethical practices.
I also forgot to mention that when I was speaking to a supervisor named Zac, who was the one who said, we needed to get the laptop fixed by Square Trade, I said, I was going to contact The Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's Office and he said, go ahead. That was very unprofessional.
