SquareTrade - Won’t accept a valid claim
I have purchased multiple square trade warranties over the years but haven’t had to file a claim until recently. It was a simple claim for an iPad that quit charging.
After two long phone calls with rude customer service personnel outside of the US, I initiated a chat. Square trade would not accept the only receipt given to me by the retailer, Best Buy. They tried very hard to give every reason why they can’t accept a claim. They insisted that I follow their suggested steps that solve “70%” of the problems.
I explained the iPad is dead because it can’t charge and they still insisted I “reset to factory defaults”. Very frustrating.
I’m filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Insurance Commissioner. Don’t buy Square Trade warranties, you will just be throwing away your money.
